STATUTE and ETHICAL PRINCIPLES

While contributing to the development of the fashion and design industry, the Fashion Designers Association bases all of its activities on the principles of professional ethics, transparency, equality, mutual respect and responsibility. The Association places importance on protecting designers’ intellectual and creative rights, encouraging original production and recognizing respect for labor as one of the industry’s fundamental values.

MTD supports the establishment of fair, trustworthy and professional relationships among its members and all industry stakeholders. While taking a stand against unfair competition, infringements of intellectual rights and unethical practices, it aims to strengthen knowledge sharing, collaboration and industry solidarity.

Diversity, inclusion and equality of opportunity are among the Association’s core principles. MTD supports the development of an equal, respectful and safe working and communication environment for everyone, regardless of gender, age, origin, belief, lifestyle or other differences. It values creating space for young and emerging designers in the industry and strengthening the sharing of knowledge and experience with established designers.

Sustainability and social responsibility are also integral to MTD’s approach. It supports efforts to reduce environmental impact, use resources consciously, expand responsible production practices and create a more sustainable fashion ecosystem.

In line with all these principles, the Fashion Designers Association aims to contribute to the development of a trust-based, creative, innovative and collaborative culture within Türkiye’s fashion and design industry and, together with its members, to strengthen the industry’s representation both nationally and internationally.
